An island of history, legends and the great outdoors
Long privately owned and off-limits, Île St-Barnabé is now open to Rimouski residents and the many tourists who visit during the summer season. Situated opposite the city of Rimouski, we offer you the chance to experience a gentle adventure with a change of scenery, nothing less! Once inhabited by the hermit Toussaint Cartier, this legendary island offers some 20 km of hiking trails. Along the way, you can observe over 70 species of birds. Harbour seals are also present! Departures are every half-hour for most of the day.
